Change Begins Within

14th Annual David Lynch Foundation
Benefit and Awards Dinner

Proceeds from the evening will help launch a new national initiative to prevent and treat substance and alcohol use disorder — a national nightmare that affects over 20 million Americans

The David Lynch Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, which addresses the epidemic of trauma and toxic stress among at-risk populations through the use of the evidence-based Transcendental Meditation technique. In nearly 14 years the Foundation has provided scholarships for more than 1 million at-risk individuals to learn to meditate, including youth in underserved schools, veterans with post-traumatic stress, women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and others.

Peer-reviewed research funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Defense Department, and other government and philanthropic agencies has found TM to be highly effective for reducing stress, anxiety, substance abuse disorder, depression, PTSD, heart disease, and violent, impulsive behavior. During this benefit dinner, the David Lynch Foundation will launch a new initiative to prevent and treat substance and alcohol use disorder- a national nightmare that affects over 20 million Americans. The DLF was established in 2005 to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build communities by addressing the epidemic of trauma and toxic stress that can fuel so many mental, physical, and behavioral health disorders. We achieve this through the systemic implementation of the stress-reducing, evidence-based Transcendental Medication technique in schools, VA hospitals, community centers, homeless centers, prisons, and more. To date, we have provided scholarships to teach more than one million at-risk adults and children to meditate worldwide- and we are now expanding our outreach to provide support to the untold numbers of individuals and families who are fighting the often-lonely battle of substance use disorder.
