| Drugs or meditation by david | |
Have you ever used hallucinogenic drugs for inspiration, or have you done it entirely through meditation?
I have smoked marijuana. But I don’t smoke it any more. And I was pretty lucky—and it’s a true thing. You know, I went to art school in the ’60s. So you can imagine what was going on. And yet my friends were the ones: they said, “No, no, no, David: don’t you take those drugs.”
Now here’s another thing. Drugs, you know—I mean, obviously, those drugs are used for experiences. And the problem is, the body, the physiology, takes a hard hit. And so all those experiences are available in consciousness. When that consciousness starts expanding, those kind of experiences are—they’re there. They’re human experiences; they’re there. Those things can be seen. And it’s just a matter of expanding that ball of consciousness. And the ball of consciousness can expand to infinite and unbounded. And that’s a big golf ball. It’s totality. You can have totality. So all those experiences are there, without the side effects.
